T78 — better known to a previous generation of ravers as Activator — is an Italian DJ and producer who has spent two decades on the front line of hard techno and hard dance. In 2016 he launched Autektone Records as a dedicated platform for the modern hard-techno sound; under his direction the label has shipped over 200 releases and spawned two sub-labels (Autektone Dark, Infamia Records). His own discography reads as a who’s-who of the genre: collaborations with Sam WOLFE, A*S*Y*S, Cosmic Boys, Frankyeffe, Gabry Ponte, Mha Iri, Alessandra Roncone and dozens more. The tagline that follows him everywhere — #onlybombs — is also a working brief.
T78 is the modern hard-techno alias of an Italian DJ and producer who has been on the front line of dance music for more than twenty years. A previous generation knows him better as Activator — a name still tied to some of the most-played records in hard dance — and the two projects continue to share studio output (the recent Autektone single "Megator (Activator Remix)" being a literal example of him remixing himself).
In 2016 he founded Autektone Records to build a dedicated platform for the modern hard-techno sound. The label has since shipped more than 200 releases, spawned the sub-labels Autektone Dark and Infamia Records, and helped define the careers of an entire generation of producers.
His own catalog reflects a relentless work ethic and a network that runs deep. Solo singles and EPs sit alongside collaborations with Sam WOLFE, A*S*Y*S, Cosmic Boys, Frankyeffe, Mha Iri, Alessandra Roncone, Roberto Molinaro, MOTVS, Gabry Ponte, Krazka, Christian Okrim, Sa.Vee.Oh and more. The Tektones compilation series — now fourteen volumes deep — is a fixture of the release calendar.
Behind the decks, T78 is defined by the same word he uses to define his catalog: bombs. Deliberately escalating sets, surgical mixing, peak-time pressure that doesn’t let up. That approach has put him on the world’s biggest festival mainstages and made Autektone a label that promoters, peers and producers all watch.
When he isn’t on the road, T78 splits his time between A&R for Autektone, his own studio output, and the mix & mastering chain that ships Autektone-grade pre-masters to artists worldwide.
